Battery is an important part of UPS system, and its quality is directly related to the reliability of the whole UPS system. Accumulators have
the lowest average fail-free time in the whole UPS system. Battery types can be generally divided into lead-acid battery, lead-acid
maintenance-free battery and nickel-cadmium battery, etc. Considering load conditions, operating environment, service life and cost,
UPS generally chooses valve-controlled lead-acid maintenance-free battery.

The following are the main factors affecting the service life of the battery and the matters needing attention in the use process:

Ambient temperature has a great influence on the battery. The discharge depth has a great influence on the battery life. During storage,
transportation and installation, the battery will lose part of its capacity due to self-discharge. The charging and discharging current of a
battery is generally expressed as C, and the actual value of C is related to the battery capacity.

Charging voltage. Maintenance-free battery due to the use of absorption electrolyte system, in normal use will not produce any gas, but
if the user improper use, resulting in overcharging of the battery, will produce gas, at this time the battery pressure will increase, the pressure
valve on the battery jacking open, serious will make the battery burst.

During UPS operation, it is necessary to pay attention to monitor the terminal voltage value of the battery, the floating charge current value,
the voltage value of each battery, the resistance to ground and the insulation status of the battery and the dc bus. Do not increase or reduce
the load of several single batteries in the battery pack, which will cause the imbalance of single battery capacity and uneven charging, reducing
the battery life.

Batteries should be installed as far as possible in a clean, cool, ventilated, dry place, and should be protected from sunlight, heaters or other
radiant heat sources. The battery should be placed upright and not tilted.

Regular maintenance. It is of great help for us to understand the main factors affecting the service life of lead-acid battery and the matters
needing attention in the service process. We hope that in the daily work of the correct use and maintenance of lead-acid battery, so that it
can be more reasonable use.
